Mental Wreckage is one of the main producers of the Symp.tom recordlabel, which is a subdivision of Neophyte Records. Its musical genre can be described as industrial hardcore / experimental hardcore (which is a sub-style of the electronic gabber/house genre that came to existence in the early 90s). In the days when he and Mute were still the only two producers on the label, he tried to maintain a balance; where Mute focused on a raw and experimental sound, Mental Wreckage's tracks were deliberately more accessible. After having released two EP's he realized this wasn't the direction he wanted for himself and spent the next two years on try-outs and experimenting until he was truly satisfied with his sound, while not releasing any new records in the meantime. After a lot of contact with Maurice Pinkster (aka The Relic) they discovered the similarity of their ideas and vision, and began a collaboration under the name "Dual Mechanism".

Mental Wreckage has also been active under his former alias Butcher and performed on some well-respected events such as Hellraiser, Artcore vs. Darkcore, Masters Of Hardcore, Speedrazor, A Nightmare Outdoor and Oldschool Madness. He also did some succesful remixes; one for Meccano Twins on the italian Traxtorm Sinful label and one for Neophyte, that has been released on the Rotterdam Records 100 anniversary EP.
